What a Wednesday!

Dear Parents,

Today we learned all about changes in matter.  A snowman (really more a iceman) was brought in for students to touch and feel.  We decided the snowman was wet, cold, and smooth.  After watching the snowman melt for a while (and after blowing him with a hair dryer) we saw the ice turn into water.  The water was also very cold.  Next we put the water in the microwave and turned it very hot into steam.  The kids seemed to really enjoy this activity.

Also we had a fire drill this morning.  The kiddos were super well behaved and I was very proud how they all walked in a line very nicely.

In the afternoon we practiced counting by counting dots on the penguin bellies.

Please Please Please don't forget to be saving your Box Tops.  They are due Feb. 15.

Be on the look out for letter about whether or not it is OK for your child to be filmed using technology.  Mrs. Powell, the media specialist, is creating a short promotional video about how our school uses technology.  If you would like your child to be able to participate please return the form saying yes.
