Water Day in a New Way!

Dear Parents,

You probably noticed this morning that it seemed a bit cool for water day.  The therapists, assistants and I agreed with you so we did water day in a different way.  All the students still had the opportunity to show off his/her bathing suit and water was involved...just not as much as originally planned.  There were 5 stations students could choose to go to (there was not a formal rotation, but rather a choosing).  Station #1 was the sensory table filled with water and squirt toys.  Station #2 was shaving cream at the table.  Station #3 was an inflatable filled with fish that had magnets in their mouths and fishing rods that had magnets on the end so kids could go fishing.  Station #4 was the animal washing station.  Students used sponges and spray bottles to clean off the plastic names we play with.  Station #5 was an inflatable pool filled with balls from the ball pit.  Station #6 was a bubble station.  Each student go wet to various degrees, but they all had a blast.  In fact I had several tired students we were trying to keep from falling asleep in their lunch.

Next week is our last week of school.  Please come to the class party if at all possible on Thursday.  Please meet in my room at 9:30am because we will be having a short graduation ceremony for those going to kindergarten.

Also thank you everyone who sent in little gifts during Teacher Appreciation Week and everyone who supported the PTA that also provided different gifts to us throughout teacher appreciation week.  It certainly made this a very special week.

Don't forget to wear pajamas on Monday!
